Beauty and the Beach.

Beauty and the Beach have been pampering and treating Crescent Head residents and tourists for over 15 years. Founder and therapist, Kate knew her branding was outdated and asked me to help with a long-overdue makeover (pun intended).

 

Kate’s clients praise her for her “magic touch,” so I wanted to compliment this through soft yet firm iconography and typography.

 

Introducing a wave within the logo icon not only links Kates salon to Crescent Head but also emits relaxation. This also helps join the two B’s together in a unique way by using the contours of the ocean as a visual representation of the soft contours of the human body.

I strayed from an overly-used blue and yellow beach colour palette, and instead opted for neutral earthy tones. I chose these because of their grounding qualities, but also to represent growth within Kate’s career.

 

Her rebrand was rolled across her salon signage, business cards and social media accounts. The website is currently in development and due to go live in 2021.
